Do you remember this house? It was Jim and Kathleen Russell's on East Wellington rd. In the late 70's it was removed and became the parking lot for Mountain View School.

Geroge Paine saw mill fire 2324 East Wellington Rd. This sawmill serviced the community in the 60's70's and 80's. Upon his passing he donated his 32 acres to Vanouver Island University. It is now the G.R.Paine Horticulture Centre.

The Pirart kids at Durnin and Maxey Rd Bridge in 1948. Many Fire practises over the years have taken place here. Note the lack of railings. Just wide enough for a car !!

Joe Barry's Blacksmith shop located at the corner of East Wellington and Westwood Road .In the 50's and 60's was used by the farmers,fire department and residents of the community. Having no children he played Santa Clause for many families in our area.

Long time firemen Wayne Morgan ( left)and Steve Ellis have had roads dedicated to their family names within a new subdivision in our community off Shady Mile Way. It was presented to them at Fireman's Christmas party in December 2018.
